The Real KeyMe Locksmiths

KeyMe Locksmiths is a key duplicating kiosk masquerading as a locksmith. The company positions kiosks in retailers nationwide, claiming to be a “locksmith in a box”. However, KeyMe does not hire a single locksmith nationwide! The kiosk strategy allows KeyMe to bypass the most burdensome aspect of running a business, physical retail location for the business.

KeyMe has gained an advantage though raising $197 million dollars of venture capital to facilitate placing the key duplication kiosks into retailers. KeyMe promises profit sharing from the key duplication services provided by the machines, however, what many host retailers do not know is that KeyMe makes nearly $40 million dollar revenue on the exorbitantly expensive services calls, performed by dubious third-party vendors, as reported in hundreds of customer feedback reviews on Google Maps and Better Business Bureau.

KeyMe Locksmiths practice is raising red flags about the growing presence of automated key-copying kiosks in everyday retail locations that serve as gateway for questionable players into the safety and security-based locksmith profession.
